Sessions
How it works.
Finding the right therapist for you and your family is important. Your journey is designed so that everyone can be sure of the right fit before intervention begins.
From first contact to review
-
Enquiry
Email us to share what you are looking for. A few sentences is enough. No referral is needed, and we will get back to you promptly.
-
Free 10-minute phone consultation
Crystal will get in touch directly via telephone for a warm introductory conversation. This is a chance to introduce ourselves and make sure Crystal is the right fit for you. You’ll discuss your needs, ask any questions, and make sure our services align with your goals before scheduling an in-person session.
-
Initial assessment
We’ll consult in-person for a longer first session to understand the full picture. This first session is mostly focused on getting to know you and your child, what your situation is and how best you’d like support. Crystal will share honestly if she is not the best fit for you; if that is the case, your assessment will not be billed at the full rate.
-
Findings and goals
Crystal sets out what she believes is happening and why, in plain language. Goals are written in your words, and they are what progress is measured against.
-
Ongoing sessions
Regular sessions, including coaching for parents and carers, so that strategies carry into daily life rather than staying in the clinic.
-
Review
Progress is reviewed against the original goals, and you decide together whether to continue, pause or finish.
Session types
- Free phone consultation
- Ten minutes, at no charge, before anything is scheduled.
- Initial assessment
- An in-depth first assessment using formal and informal assessment tools to understand your full picture. This is typically 1–1.5 hours face to face.

- Home visits, where the home environment is central to the goals
- School and preschool visits, with observation and educator liaison
- Telehealth by secure video, including parent and carer coaching

All services are GST free.
- NDIS
- Self-managed and plan-managed participants, charged in line with the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements, under a signed service agreement. Agency-managed participants cannot currently be invoiced directly.
- Private health
- A receipt with a provider number is issued for you to claim, if your extras cover includes occupational therapy.

Cancellations
Please give at least 48 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment. Appointments cancelled with less notice, and missed appointments, are charged in full, because the time cannot be reallocated — waived where there is a genuine emergency or genuine illness.
